On 1st September, Saint Aidan’s will welcome only its fifth Headteacher in the school’s history. Mrs Katie Benter will take the reins following the retirement of Andy Smith, after over thirteen years at the helm. Mrs Benter comes from Ripley St. Thomas CE Academy where she has been Deputy Headteacher.
In advance of her appointment, Mrs Benter said “I hope that all members of our Saint Aidan’s school community are enjoying a wonderful summer. As the new school year approaches preparations are well underway to welcome students and staff back for the 2025-26 academic year.
It is an honour to be taking on the role as Headteacher of Saint Aidan’s Church of England High School from Monday 1st September and I am very much looking forward to meeting you all in the days, weeks and months ahead.”
Students and staff will have the chance to start work with Mrs Benter from the start of September, but everyone else will get the opportunity to meet Mrs Benter and hear what she has to say on our Open Evening on Thursday, 11th September from 6.00 until 8.30 pm.
