Readathon Record!

By
This half term Year 7 have been working hard raising money for the Read For Good charity by taking part in our annual Readathon. Over three weeks, students were asked to challenge themselves to be sponsored for reading. Together we have managed to raise a very impressive £1315.50! We are extremely proud of what Year 7 have been able to achieve by using reading as their focus for this challenge. Many have set targets of books to read over three weeks, SRP to earn on Sparx and reading something new. All of this has helped us make a huge difference and this money will help the Read For Good charity to support children in hospital and provide new books for them to read.
We are so lucky that we have access to a huge range of books in school and via Sparx Reader. This is our way of helping to support those in need and ensuring poorly children can still escape through a book and have that enjoyment when they need it most.
Mrs Goodier, who helped organise this event, is overjoyed to share the fantastic amount raised and shows what a difference we can make. Mrs Goodier said, “Thank you to all who participated. Every penny raised has helped us achieve that amazing total and we are all very proud.”
Well done to every single one of you in Year 7 – this is a truly amazing achievement.
