New Officer Team Selected

On Tuesday, 28th and Wednesday, 29th April, we selected our Officer Team for 2026-27. These are the Year 11 students who will serve at key school events, welcome visitors, mentor younger students and represent Saint Aidan’s in the community. They will be ably assisted by an even larger team of Proctors who will do various duties around the school. The process to apply and be chosen was a gruelling one, involving letters of application, interviews and presentations.

Head of Year 10, Miss Barks, said, “Last week, we had the absolute privilege of interviewing candidates for our 2026 Officer and Proctor team including the prestigious roles of Head Boy, Head Girl, and their Deputies.

Selecting a leadership team is never a simple task, but this year proved to be exceptionally challenging. We were overwhelmed by the number of applications, and the sheer calibre of the students made the shortlisting process incredibly difficult. Every student who stepped into the interview room should be immensely proud of how they conducted themselves. Hearing our students speak so passionately about how they want to support younger year groups and give back to the school reminded me why this cohort is so special.

I am incredibly proud of every student who put themselves forward. I have full confidence that this new leadership team will act as fantastic role models and ambassadors for our school. I look forward to working closely with them to make this year our best one yet.”

Headteacher, Mrs Benter, commented, “We are really excited to see this new team in action. We have a wonderful year ahead with this excellent team of students at the helm.”
