Following a successful trial week at the end of December, Year 11’s Nathan Hart has gained a football scholarship with Blackpool Football Club.  We know that Nathan will continue to work hard to balance his academic studies for his GCSEs alongside his commitments to excelling on the football pitch. We wish him every luck for the rest of the season and beyond!

Nathan said ‘I am incredibly proud to announce that I have signed a scholar agreement with Blackpool FC.  This opportunity is the culmination of years of hard work and I want to thank God, my family, my coaches and my teachers for their unwavering support and belief.  I’m excited to start this next chapter of my career at Bloomfield Road and see what the future holds.’

Nathan’s form tutor, Mr Colgan, is also celebrating of Nathan’s achievements.  He said ‘Nathan has shown remarkable dedication and perseverance, earning a football scholarship with Blackpool Football Club.  This achievement is a testament to his hard work, talent, and commitment to excellence both on and off the pitch.  Alongside his sporting success, he is known for being a well-mannered and hardworking young man who consistently demonstrates respect and integrity, who always gives his best in everything that he does here at Saint Aidan’s.  His ability to balance academic responsibilities with his passion for football makes him an outstanding role model for his peers and younger students all around school.  I wish you nothing but the best for you as you start this journey and we are very proud of your achievements.’

Deputy Headteacher, Mr Lord added, ‘As a season-ticket holder for nearly 50 years, it is always a joy to see local boys and girls make it through the ranks at Bloomfield Road.  Here’s hoping that we get to see Nathan pull on a tangerine shirt for the the first team in the years to come.’
