Andrew Swindley

By

We are heartbroken by the news that Mr Swindley passed away on Wednesday 23rd February. Mr Swindley was our Head of Drama for 14 years and inspired generations of Saint Aidan’s students with his knowledge and infectious love of the theatre and his larger than life personality. He will be sorely missed by his students, his form and all of his colleagues, and we have been overwhelmed with tributes from ex-students who have said how important Mr Swindley was to them when they were at Saint Aidan’s.

This story in the Westmorland Gazette sums up Mr Swindley so well https://www.thewestmorlandgazette.co.uk/news/19950043.tributes-paid-much-loved-teacher-andrew-swindley/

A Book of Condolence is available in our Chapel for anyone who knew Mr Swindley to record their thanks for his life and their memories of him. Ex-students should contact the school if they wish to sign the Book of Condolence.

We would also encourage you to give to the charity Bipolar UK through Mrs Swindley’s Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/sarah-swindley

The thoughts and prayers of the whole Saint Aidan’s community are with Mr Swindley’s family and friends.
