All smiles on GCSE Results Day

By

Results day came earlier than usual this year, but Saint Aidan’s students were up bright and early to collect their results as usual. There was a lot of trepidation beforehand, but smiles all round afterwards as hard work was rewarded by excellent grades.

All Smiles On GCSE Results-day

After GCSE exams were cancelled for the second year running, teachers were asked to give grades based on students’ work during their GCSE and vocational courses. The grades were rigorously checked by the exam boards, before they were issued to students.

Congratulations to all our students, especially Adam Catley, Thomas Fairhurst and Emily Pickworth, all of whom achieved a clean sweep of Grade 9 GCSEs across the board.

Headteacher Andy Smith said, “I am really proud of all of our students this morning. The COVID pandemic means that they have faced challenges that I never had when I was at school, but they have coped magnificently, and can be proud of what they have achieved at Saint Aidan’s. I wish them all the very bast for the next stage of their education – and hope that COVID plays a much smaller part in it!”
