Diocese of Blackburn Centenary 2026
This year we are celebrating the Centenary year of the Diocese of Blackburn, founded in 1926 by William Temple.
We hope that our Centenary Year will give our Children and Young People the chance to give thanks for all that God has done through his people.
We will be celebrating the Centenary through Collective Worship, Daily Worship, prayer stations and a whole school art project. We will teach our students about the history of the Diocese of Blackburn and give them the opportunity to know Jesus Christ for the first time or more deeply than they do now.
In worship, we will be exploring the scripture ‘Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever.’ - Hebrews 13:8
Yesterday – Helping students to understand the unchanging nature of who Jesus is and how God has been faithful to us over the last 100 years,
Today – Exploring how God is faithful in his promises to us today and how we can give our ‘all for Jesus’.
Forever – Looking at God’s Kingdom coming to Earth and what it is God wants for us and how we can start to make a difference now.
